Colin Domnauer

Colin Domnauer is a Ph.D. candidate in Biology at the University of Utah and the Natural History Museum of Utah, where he studies mushroom diversity and evolution. With a lifelong interest in Astronomy before turning to Mycology, he is most passionate about research and storytelling that inspires a greater sense of wonder and connection to the living world. His current work focuses on unravelling the longstanding mystery of psychoactive bolete mushrooms said to cause vivid hallucinations of little people. The project has taken him across the world — from the forests of southern China to the mountains of the northern Philippines — and has been featured in international headlines including The Guardian, The Washington Post, and the BBC.
